I am Birgitta.

I love fashion. And I want to act in an environmentally conscious way. Groenstil was born out of this seemingly contradictory tension.

I worked successfully as a designer for renowned labels for a long time. I loved my job, but at some point I could no longer identify with the ever-increasing volume of clothing being dumped on the market at an ever-increasing pace. The clothing sector is the second largest polluter in the world, and I felt like I was on the wrong side of the coin. With groenstil, we're doing many things fundamentally differently.

A major difference compared to conventional fashion is that we manufacture exclusively in Germany. This allows us to support women-led businesses and the craft industry itself. Every piece is made to order. While this is significantly more complex, it's also much more sustainable because we only produce items for which there's genuine demand.

Unlike many sustainable labels, we don't just offer basics. Our styles can also be worn for many seasons, but have a modern, contemporary look and are often cleverly cut.

With my fashion, I want to celebrate us women! Women are amazing! When I look at the world, I often come to the conclusion that the world needs more femininity. Women are also a great inspiration to me. These can be well-known personalities, but also women from my personal circle who do their own thing intelligently and gently – despite all the challenges they often have to face on the side.

Groenstil fashion aims to support women and do them good. That's why I love the Scandinavian style. Despite all its chic, it's always practical and comfortable for everyday wear. That's what groenstil stands for, too.
