Hello, my name is Birgitta.

I love fashion. And I want to act in an environmentally conscious way. groenstil was born from this tension between these seemingly opposing ideas.

I worked for a very long time and successfully as a designer for well-known labels. I loved my job, but at some point I could no longer identify with the fact that more and more clothing is being thrown onto the market at an ever faster pace. The clothing sector is the second largest polluter in the world and I felt like I was on the wrong side. With groenstil we are doing many things fundamentally differently.

A major difference compared to conventional fashion is that we manufacture exclusively in Germany. This supports women-led businesses and craftsmanship in general. With us, every piece is made to order. While this is significantly more complex, it's also much more sustainable because we only produce what there is genuine demand for.

Unlike many sustainable labels, we don't just offer basics. Our styles can also be worn for many seasons, but have a modern, contemporary look and are often cleverly cut.

With my fashion, I want to celebrate us women! Women are great! When I look at the world, I often come to the conclusion that the world needs more femininity. Women are also a great inspiration to me. These can be well-known personalities, but also women from my personal environment who cleverly and gently do their thing - despite all the challenges they often have to overcome at the same time.

Fashion from groenstil aims to support women and make them feel good. That's why I also love the Scandinavian style. Despite all its chicness, it is always practical and comfortable for everyday wear. That's what groenstil stands for.
